CHIP IN FOR MISS BUBBLES
South Bay Cats is hoping all of
our friends can chip in and help
us with saving Miss Bubbles.
Bubbles is in desperate need
of a massive "dental. She was
originally rescued about two
months ago out of the high kill
LA County Carson Shelter
where she was a volunteer
favorite. South Bay Cats was
quickly able to find a foster for her because of her
good looks and amazing personality. The foster is
absolutely “IN LOVE” with Bubbles and would
actually like to keep her but unfortunately, SBC has
determined that Bubbles needs a major dental
surgery due to stomatitis and a severely unaligned
jaw and the foster-to-adopt can not afford it at this
time. SBC is working with an amazing Veterinarian
Dentist, Dr. Lynn, in Pasadena because we could not
delay Bubble’s s surgery ASAP or her condition would
have gotten worse. Our fundraising goal is $1,500
due to the complicated surgery. Dr. Lynn has
discounted her service charges by 25% which is so
helpful.

This fall, 10 year old Anna Thompson was inspired to start
Mission HELP (help every little pet), with the goal of raising
money for cats and kittens in need. After researching and
interviewing a couple of rescue/adoption non-profits, Anna
selected South Bay Cats as her partner. On November 13, she
held her first fundraising event, the 2011 Run for Cats, and
raised $232. On this beautiful November morning, 21 friends
and family walked the paths of Columbia Park in Torrance,
wearing their custom-designed t-shirts to show their support
for cats in need. Afterwards, Anna had a raffle where
participants could get 2 tickets in exchange for a cat toy. She
awarded 7 fun prizes and collected 24 cat toys for Carson
Shelter. The group was even filmed for the upcoming
celebration of Torrance's 100th birthday. Of course, they gave
a shout out to South Bay Cats! Anna had so much fun
planning the 2011 Run for Cats that she hopes to make it a
yearly fundraising event.
